In the winter of 1995-1996, TIAA-CREF and academic researchers affiliated with Harvard University's Global Financial Systems (GFS) Project fielded a detailed direct mail survey of the financial asset holdings of a sample of TIAA-CREF participants. Included in the documentation for the survey, which may be downloaded, are:
