Professor Bernasek is surveying 1,600 tenured and tenure-track faculty at seven public and private higher education institutions in the state of Colorado in order to obtain data on the wealth status and financial decision making of married and cohabiting couple households. Men and women are equally represented in the sample. In addition to a paper directed toward an academic audience, she intends to write one paper for the financial planning community.
