The global economic crisis presents challenges that many individuals and institutions have not seen in their lifetime. To thrive or even survive in these conditions demands creativity, persistence and trusted partners to help make difficult choices.
Managing the economic crisis is an overarching theme of the TIAA-CREF Institute’s current work. Much of our research, publications, conferences and events address the impact of the economic downturn on lifelong financial security and the business of higher education. In November the 2009 TIAA-CREF Institute Higher Education Leadership Conference, entitled Smart Leadership in Difficult Times, will also focus on this theme.
